MRI | CT TECHNOLOGIST
TECHNOLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTION
The MRI/CT technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The MRI/CT technologist also provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patients’ conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The MRI/CT technologist reports to the Director of Blue Star Imaging.
Job Duties:
· Performing all diagnostic imaging procedures as designated by specialty
· Performing venipuncture as needed for contrast exams
· Performing and ensuring safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner
· Providing patient education and responding to patient and customer concerns
· Completing documentation in patient record
· Performing Quality Control processes
· Performing value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction
· Performing other related duties as assigned or requested
· Demonstrating a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor always
Qualifications:
- Certification from a school of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum one-year clinical experience as a general radiographer
- Minimum one-year clinical experience in CT and/or MRI
- Multi-Modality MRI/CT tech preferred
- Willingness to cross train in other modalities
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of employment
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for scheduling patient procedures, performing insurance verification, creating/maintaining medical records and compiling/forwarding billing information to the corporate office. The Patient Care Coordinator also assists with answering telephones and handling facility issues as needed. The Patient Care Coordinator reports to the Director of Blue Star Imaging.
Job Duties:
· Answering and directing telephone calls to appropriate staff in a professional, courteous and timely manner
· Sorting and distributing incoming faxes, mail, and/or interoffice mail to appropriate staff
· Coordinating inventory/ordering of office supplies and distribute to staff accordingly upon delivery
· Reporting and coordinating necessary maintenance of office equipment
· Scheduling patients for physician ordered procedures
· Completing appropriate correspondence with patients /physicians concerning cancellations/”no-shows”
· Contacting and scheduling patients for ordered procedures if cancellations create appointment openings
· Greet and check in patients during office visits
· Retrieving and filing patient medical records as needed
· Forwarding medical record documentation to various locations and services as requested and authorized
· Communicating with various insurance companies to obtain patient insurance information
Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma and 1-2 years of related experience
- Detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups, including all levels of staff
- Familiarity with medical terminology and demonstrate proficiency in typing and the use of Microsoft Office Applications
- Professional and courteous demeanor
- Strong multi-tasking ability
INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST

Insurance Verification Specialist will be responsible for verifying patient’s insurance benefits and obtaining insurance authorization for patient exams.
